Any law student currently enrolled in an ABA approved law school may join HIPLA as a student affiliate. Dues for student affiliates are $25.00 per year. Persons remain eligible as student affiliates for one year after graduation from law school. After becoming a member of a state bar, however, a student affiliate member has until the following March 1 to become an active member of HIPLA if he or she is actively engaged in the profession of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, copyright, and related law. A student affiliate is entitled to all membership privileges except those of voting or holding office. Student affiliates are invited to attend the monthly membership luncheon meetings at the student rate of $25.00.
