Speakers:

Akiko Kurawaki, Tashiro & Etoh Patent Bureau, Tokyo, Japan

Akiko Kurawaki is a Japanese patent attorney and an IP litigator. Her practice focuses on patent applications, prosecution, and disputes including but not limited to oppositions, invalidations and litigations. She is involved in domestic, inbound, and outbound cases and has supported companies around the world including those based in the United States, Europe and Asia. Ms. Kurawaki’s practice is focuses mainly within the chemical field and other technical fields including mechanical/structural and automobile system controls. Ms. Kurawaki earned her bachelor’s degrees in Linguistics from Dokkyo University and in Chemistry from University of the Air.

Maiko Ide, Ohno & Partners, Tokyo

Maiko Ide is a Japanese patent attorney whose practice focuses on trademark and design matters in Japan. Ms. Ide devises and implements world-wide trademark and design expansion strategies for her clients. Ms. Ide has experience working in the intellectual property departments of E-commerce and business-to-business (B2B) companies. Ms. Ide earned her bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Waseda.
